The Board announced that the national election scheduled for May 28, 2013 will not take place on this day.

As a result, the next election will be announced in the future. The Board discussed with representatives of political parties on the voter registration process and the problems encountered.

The chairperson of the board, Ms. Birtukan Mideksa, said that the delay in the registration of voters and other activities has delayed the voting day.

On the other hand, it has been decided that the voting day of Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa will be held on the same day.
According to Ms. Birtukan Mideksa, more than 36 million voters have registered to vote since last Wednesday, May 10, 2013.
