The Ethiopian army is clearing the region by destroying Al-Shabaab and thwarting its terrorist target
AMISOM Force Commander, Lt. Gen. Dayonde Ndegeya, has said that the Ethiopian Army is clearing the region of Al-Shabaab and defeating its terrorist target.
The Commander discussed the current peacekeeping situation in Somalia and related issues with the Chief of Defense Staff of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, General Berhanu Jula.
During the meeting, the Chief of Defense Staff, General Berhanu Jula, said that the security situation in the region needs to be strengthened and the Somali security forces need to be strengthened to ensure lasting peace.
AMISOM Force Commander, Lt. Gen. Dionmonde Ndegeya, lauded the Ethiopian army for its bravery in the fight against Al Shabaab. He indicated that coordination efforts should be intensified to ensure peace in the region.
Defense Director of Foreign Affairs B / J Bulti Tadesse, who was present at the meeting, said Al-Shabaab was weakening the security forces’ operations and that their planned terrorist missions in various regions had failed.
The Ethiopian Defense Forces (EDF) has said that the Ethiopian army is not only defending the country’s sovereignty but is also using force against Al-Shabaab, an international terrorist group, according to ENA.
