Preparations for the partial transfer of Ethio-Telecom to private ownership have been completed

The Ministry of Finance and the Public Enterprises Ownership and Management Agency, as well as the board of directors of Ethio-Telecom, said the transfer of Ethio-Telecom has been completed.

The Ethiopian government has announced that the telecom companies interested in participating in the process of selling a 40% stake in Ethio Telecom, which is part of the privatization of public enterprises in 2018, can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) from tomorrow, June 8, 2013.

The statement of interest will last for a month and the details will be released on the website of the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises Ownership and Management Agency, Zinabu Yirga said.

The bid will last for 30 days and international investors are invited to participate in the largest Ethio-partial transfer in Africa.

He said the process not only brings the best of international experience to the forefront, but also serves as a major marketing consultant on financial, business planning, legal and tax planning.

Bidders should submit their Request for Proposal (RFP) following the announcement of the bid, which will be announced in a timely, efficient and effective manner, the ministry said in a statement.
