Mothers march in Mekelle
On Thursday, July 22, 2013, mothers in Mekelle staged a protest at the entrance of the Tigray Regional State President’s Office in Mekelle with the slogan ‘Don’t Finish Our Children’.
The saddest and most heartbreaking thing is that the alleged masterminds of the protest, including the mothers, were beaten and killed by TPLF leaders.
So far, more than 40 mothers and other individuals have been killed, and hundreds have been arrested.
What makes the operation even more tragic is the response to the massacre, which took place during a meeting between international human rights activists and donors during talks with regional leaders.
