Red-faced Helen Skelton walks off Lorraine amid dog chaos after addressing split
Helen Skelton was left red-faced as she was forced to walk off during an interview with Lorraine this morning to sort out her noisy dog.
The Countryfile presenter, 38, had appeared on the ITV show to speak about her upcoming TV shows.
Speaking to host Lorraine Kelly, she briefly addressed her split from estranged husband Richard Myler, who left their home just four months after she gave birth back in April.
Helen had been with her husband for nine years and the pair share three children together – four-month-old Elsie Kate, Louis (four) and six-year-old Ernie.
Lorraine began the interview by saying: “Helen, it’s so good to see you. You’ve had a bit of a rough time, I know. But the best way to get over stuff is to just get out there again – out there working.”
“I think anybody in my position would say the same,” she replied as loud barking could be heard in the background. “I’ve got three small children and a very loud dog as you can hear.”
Turning to her dog, who was off camera, she shouted: “Stop it! They time it perfectly, don’t they?!”
“It’s fine,” Lorraine insisted. “Kids and dogs and all that, your life is like that, it really is. And you’re used to the chaos! So you’re my kind of woman, you put on a brave face and you’re back out doing the series-“
But a cringing Helen got out of her chair and left briefly to sort out the dog.
When she returned, Lorraine asked if everything was alright.
“It’s uncharacteristically calm around here this morning because I’m working this week,” she replied. “My mum has come to stay for the week, because she doesn’t live near, so she’s got the kids off to school. Monday morning when you’ve got to get the kids to school is just… It’s the same drill every day but somehow it’s always chaos! ‘Get the socks on, get their shoes on, where’s their school bags?!’
Helen previously shared the news of her separation from Richie on Instagram and wrote: “Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home.
“We will be doing our best to co parent our small children.”
