More than 134 thousand vehicles have been registered to get fuel subsidy – Ethio Telecom

Ethio Telecom announced that 134 thousand 684 vehicles have registered to get the targeted fuel subsidy service.

According to the explanation given by the CEO of Ethio Telecom, Firehiwot Tamiru, 134 thousand 684 of the more than 164 thousand vehicles expected by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics to benefit from the subsidy have been registered in the Ethio Telecom system.

Among the vehicles registered to access the service, 26 thousand 849 have declared that they are users of the service.

The CEO pointed out that so far 104 million birr have been transferred in Telebirr in relation to fuel trading, and explained that more than 95 million birr is part of the subsidy. The chief executive also announced that those who registered for the service and could not benefit from the subsidy were due to incomplete information and a gap created due to information verification.

In order to facilitate the service, 2 thousand 548 workers have been assigned to different fuel stations and are doing awareness work.

It has been observed that the 16th day since the government started implementing the fuel subsidy aimed at preventing illegal fuel trading.
