Open letter to Safaricom Ethiopia limited. Safaricom PLC by Mathias Gudina
I am writing to you to voice the concerns of Oromo candidates for employment with your company.
There are many voices and complaints heard over the last couple of days that your company’s human resources practice is against this group of candidates-systematically excluded, rejected, discriminated, dehumanized, and disrespected in the hiring process-from receptionists all the way to the HR.
As a leadership expert, I came to know that any company which is not based its practices on equitable, diverse, and inclusive workforce is doomed to fail.
Therefore, I would like to bring this to your attention to suggest the following corrective actions.
~Your talent recruitment process should reflect the reality of the country,
~Human resources managers should reflect the diversity of the country,
~The talent pool also should reflect the reality and diversity of the country,
~Punitive action on those who perpetrated racially biased practices within the company labor forces’ recruitment system.
~Implement open, transparent, and fair human resources practice for the future.
If you fail to correct this as soon as possible, your company might stumble in Oromia-Ethiopia.
Please let the public know your decisions at your earliest convenience.
With sincere regards,
Mathias Gudina, ED.D.
