U23 AFCON Qualifiers: Ethiopia to face DR Congo in First Round
Ethiopia’s under-23 national team will play DR Congo in the qualifiers for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations 2023
African Football Confederation of African Football held the draw for the U23 AfCON qualifiers on Thursday.
The qualifiers involve three knockout rounds and see 38 teams battling for seven spots to join Morocco, host nation of the tournament, in the finals.
According to CAF, 20 least ranked teams will partake in the first round while the remaining 18 are exempted.
The Ethiopian U23 national team will start their qualifying campaign for the finals in Morocco in first round.
Thursday’s draw saw Ethiopia paired with DR Congo and they will play double-legged matches to progress to the next rounds.
The aggregate winner of the two will face Algeria in the second round.
Today’s draw for the qualifiers of U23 AFCON 2023 also revealed some thrilling encounters.
