The Federal Documents Authentication and Registration Agency partnered with Ethio Telecom to enable its customers to settle service charges via Telebirr.

Top officials of the telco and the agency signed the Partnership Agreement to implement the Telebirr-based Payments System on Thursday.
The agency’s 15 branch offices provide 27 different types of services, serving more than 7,000 customers daily, involving transactions worth 6.5 million Birr.
The new partnership would enable its customers to settle their service payments using the Telebirr digital payment system easily, says Ethio Telecom.
Accordingly, customers of the agency can settle service charges via the Telebirr app or USSD (*127#) for authentication services such as vehicle sales, power of attorney, rental and loan agreements, and memorandum of association using the payment reference number they receive from the agency.
To date, more than 55 service-providing public and private institutions have integrated their payment system with Telebirr.
“Currently, our company is diligently working to integrate Telebirr with more institutions and make all payments possible in one stop shop in the near future,” says the telecom.
Telebirr has 22.9 million subscribers and has already been integrated with 13 banks to transfer money from bank to Telebirr and with 11 banks to transfer money from Telebirr to bank.
