Ethiopian Airlines opens a five-star in-terminal hotel in Addis Ababa

Ethiopian Airlines Group, Africa’s largest aviation group, has completed the first phase for its In-Terminal Hotel construction.

In-Terminal Hotel construction began on December 2020. This was in an ongoing effort for comfort and convenience of passengers, crews, airlines using Addis Ababa to serve as a hub. The Hotel is located just a few steps from Addis Ababa Bole international departure terminal 02, which is physically connected to the Hotel.

Ethiopian Skylight Hotel

The first phase of the two-phased project was completed, with 41 rooms available for guests. The extravagant Ethiopian Skylight Hotel In-Terminal has 97 luxurious, spacious rooms. There is also a restaurant.

It offers a variety of rooms including an executive suite and a premium room designed for the differently-abled. There are also 12 interconnected rooms, 30 twin bedrooms, and 53 double rooms. The new Ethiopian Skylight Hotel In-Terminal will be available to crew members and passengers who don’t want to leave the airport. This will allow the airport to offer seamless connections and provide the most convenient travel experience.

Following the completion of the first phase, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew said, “The extensive Ethiopian network brings millions of passengers through Addis Ababa each year. We are a customer-focused airline and want our passengers to enjoy every moment they spend with us, even transit hours at the airport. It addresses the industry’s demand and leads us to plan and create efficient and seamless connectivity to enhance the comfort of passengers. We want passengers to depart from their origin city without a single worry about their transit time at Addis Ababa Airport should they choose to stay there as we are waiting for them with a comfortable space where they can freshen up before boarding their next flight.”

Starting from now, customers can book the hotel for stays by sending an email to, via online platforms such as Expedia,, and or at Ethiopian Airlines local offices and at Addis Ababa Interline Desk. The second phase, which will include 56 additional rooms, a restaurant, and other facilities, is expected to be completed in October.
