A Remarkable Homecoming: Reflections on the Inaugural Jigjiga Forum
After three days in Jigjiga, I’m heading back from the inaugural #JigjigaForum—a Horn dialogue on regional integration. My heartfelt congratulations to the organizers for a job well done. Pulling together such an impressive list of participants on short notice was nothing short of a miracle. The thematic areas you chose for discussion will remain relevant—if not more so—for years to come.
You couldn’t have picked a better venue for this dialogue. Jigjiga and the regional government were superb hosts.
The transformation of Jigjiga is nothing short of astonishing—especially for those of us who hadn’t set foot there in over 12 years. I can’t wait to return before the second edition of the #JigjigaForum, if not sooner.
