Based on the official NGAT portal and the Ministry of Education’s registration guide, the registration process consists of the following steps.

The NGAT registration process on the official portal is organized into the following stages:

Step 1: NGAT Registration

Visit the official NGAT registration portal and click Register to begin your application.

At this stage, you will create your NGAT registration profile by providing your basic information and agreeing to the registration requirements.

Step 2: Select Registration Type

Choose the registration method that applies to you.

The portal provides different registration options based on your eligibility. Select the appropriate registration type before proceeding to identity verification.

Step 3: Continue Registration with Fayda

Click Continue Registration with Fayda.

This option connects your NGAT application with Ethiopia’s Fayda Digital ID system to verify your identity electronically.

Before continuing, make sure you:

  • Have an active Fayda ID.
  • Know your Fayda ID number or have access to your registered mobile number.
  • Can complete the authentication process.

Step 4: Fayda Authentication

Complete the Fayda Auth process.

During this step, the system verifies your identity using the Fayda digital identity platform. You may be required to:

  • Enter your Fayda credentials.
  • Confirm your identity through a one-time verification code (OTP), if requested.
  • Approve the authentication request.

After successful authentication, your verified identity information is securely shared with the NGAT registration system.

Step 5: Profile Review

Review the personal information retrieved from Fayda.

Carefully check details such as:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • Contact information

If any information is incorrect, update it through the Fayda system before continuing, as some fields may not be editable within the NGAT portal.

Step 6: Education Information

Provide your academic details.

You will be asked to enter information such as:

  • Previous university or college
  • Degree obtained
  • Field of study
  • Graduation year
  • Cumulative GPA (if required)
  • Other educational qualifications requested by the portal

Ensure all information matches your official academic records.

Step 7: Review Before Submission

Before submitting your application:

  • Check all personal details.
  • Verify your educational information.
  • Confirm your email address.
  • Ensure your uploaded photo is correct.

After submission, basic profile information may no longer be editable, so review everything carefully.

Step 8: Submit Application

Review all information one final time before submission.

After confirming that your identity and educational information are correct:

  1. Accept the declaration.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. Wait for the confirmation message indicating that your registration has been successfully received.

Once submitted, follow any additional instructions on the portal, such as payment (if applicable), downloading your confirmation, or checking for examination updates.

Step 9: Activate Your Account

After submitting the registration form:

  • An account activation email will be sent to your registered email address.
  • If you do not receive it immediately, wait a few minutes.
  • Check your Spam or Junk folder if necessary.

Step 10: Set Your Password

Open the activation email and click Activate Account.

You will be taken to a page where you create your password. This password will be used for all future logins to the NGAT portal.

Step 11: Log In to Your Dashboard

After activating your account:

  • Sign in using your email address and password through the NGAT login page.

Once logged in, you can:

  • View your profile
  • Check registration status
  • Access payment instructions
  • Monitor application progress

Step 12: Obtain Your Payment Reference Number (PRN)

Inside your dashboard, navigate to the Payment Information section.

The system will generate a Payment Reference Number (PRN), which is required to pay the NGAT registration fee.
