Gambella state says security forces stabilize capital city after hours-long fighting against joint Gambella, Oromo armed groups

The regional government announced that it has been able to stabilize the town with the help of security forces against the Shene (OLA) and Gambella Liberation Front (GLF) who opened fire on Gambella town.

The militant group has also claimed responsibility for the attack. The regional government thanked the people of the city for their cooperation in law enforcement.

It is recalled that there had been a long-running exchange of gunfire in the city since 12:30 am, adding that work was underway to clear the remaining members of the group.

The security forces are also working hard to eradicate the militant group. The state said the regional government ask the people to continue to support the security forces and strengthen their cooperation.
