Minister of Environment and Climate change participates in a meeting to approve the A2R2 project

The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, HE Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi participated in a meeting to approve the Adaptive Agriculture and Rangeland Rehabilitation Project (A2R2).

The Minister who presided over this meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of Somalia was Mr. Ahmed Madobe Nuunow. He highlighted the importance of this project for building resilience and adaptation to climate changes.

This project aims to increase economic growth, agricultural production, pasture and climate resilience through the effective management natural resources at different levels.

This project will be jointly worked by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, with the help of IFAD & GEF.

Minister Khadija concluded her speech by stating that the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is committed towards the development and protection of our environment and to dealing with climate change.
