Tmobile outage: T-Mobile Restores Service After Widespread U.S. Network Outage

July 28, 2026 — T-Mobile has confirmed that its mobile network has been fully restored after a widespread service disruption affected thousands of customers across the United States on Monday.

The outage began at approximately 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with users reporting problems making calls, sending text messages, and accessing mobile data. According to outage tracking platform Downdetector, reports of service interruptions peaked at more than 62,000 incidents before gradually declining as service was restored.

Many customers took to social media to report losing cellular connectivity, with some iPhone users seeing their devices switch to “SOS” mode, which allows only emergency communications when a mobile network connection is unavailable.

The disruption appeared to affect customers in several states, including California, Arizona, Georgia, and Utah, among others. However, the actual number of affected users may have been higher or lower than outage reports, as Downdetector relies on user-submitted reports and other publicly available data.

In a statement issued after the outage, T-Mobile said network services had been restored for all customers and apologized for the inconvenience. The company did not disclose the underlying cause of the incident but said its technical teams had worked to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

The temporary outage highlights the critical role of mobile networks in everyday communication, with customers relying on wireless services for voice calls, messaging, internet access, and emergency communications. While the interruption was relatively short-lived, it prompted widespread discussion online as users sought updates and confirmation of the service disruption.

T-Mobile has not announced whether it will provide additional details regarding the cause of the outage or whether any preventive measures will be implemented to reduce the likelihood of similar incidents in the future.
