Air India Names Former Ethiopian Airlines Chief Tewolde Gebremariam as CEO
Air India has appointed former Ethiopian Airlines Group chief executive Tewolde Gebremariam as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, entrusting him with leading the airline through ongoing financial and operational challenges.
Gebremariam will take over from Campbell Wilson, who announced his resignation in April after overseeing Air India’s transformation following its return to Tata Group ownership in 2022. Wilson is expected to officially step down on September 30.
The leadership change comes as Air India continues efforts to strengthen its operations, improve profitability, and advance its long-term modernization strategy under the Tata Group.
