Perez Hilton Hospitalized After Mental Health Emergency Following TikTok Livestream
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has been hospitalized after emergency responders were called to his Miami home following reports that he was experiencing a mental health crisis during a TikTok livestream, according to The Guardian.
Authorities responded Tuesday night after members of the public alerted emergency services about a man livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media. Although the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office did not identify the individual by name, officials confirmed they were responding to reports involving a man in crisis.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies met with family members at the scene and chose to “tactically disengage” while closely monitoring the situation. Officials said this approach is designed to prioritize de-escalation, allowing trained personnel to use crisis intervention techniques that reduce the risk of harm to the individual, responding officers, and the public.
The sheriff’s office later confirmed that the individual was safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical care.
Perez Hilton’s managers, Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, said in a statement to TMZ that they were aware of the concerning reports involving their client but had been unable to make direct contact with him despite repeated attempts. They added that their primary concern is Hilton’s health and well-being, along with that of his family, and requested privacy while awaiting confirmed information.
Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., rose to prominence in the mid-2000s through his celebrity gossip website, which became one of the internet’s most influential entertainment blogs. Although the site’s popularity later declined, Hilton continued his media career through reality television, podcasting, and other entertainment projects. Earlier this year, he announced that he had relocated from Las Vegas to Miami with his three children.
