Land ownership certificate issued to 1,290 farmers and farmers’ children in Akaki-Kaliti sub-city

Deputy Mayor, Adanech Abebe, handed over a land title certificate to farmers and farmers’ children in Akaki Kaliti sub-city.

Ms. Adanech Abebe said farners should not be displaced from the land on which the farmer is living and managing his children. She said the land should be used for development.

Farmers have been contributing to the country’s growth and change; The deputy mayor, who is still contributing, said the change will not come from the sidelines of the farmers but from the growth of the city.

According to Adanech, the city administration will work to answer the questions of good governance and improve the lives of the farmers.

The deputy mayor warned that the right of farmers to work on their own land and farms should be guaranteed and respected, and warned that looting by brokers and illegal engineers should be stop.

The deputy mayor urged farmers who have been given ownership title cards in the sub-city to work for the development of the city.

According to the Addis Ababa City Press Secretariat, out of the 7,374 farmers and farmers’ children registered in the sub-city, 6,860 of them have been certified.
