Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s leading carrier, celebrated significant growth in June with four new routes, increased frequencies on six existing routes, and prestigious awards from Skytrax and APEX.
Ethiopian Airlines has expanded internationally with new routes to Freetown, Sierra Leone, and Maun, Botswana, and added Warsaw, Poland, as its 24th European destination. Domestically, it launched new flights to Axum and Nekemte and increased frequencies on several routes. Skytrax and APEX have recognized the airline for its excellence in enhancing customer experience.
Ethiopian Airlines increased frequencies on existing routes, with daily flights to Ouagadougou from May 31, 2024, and to Conakry from June 1, 2024. New morning flights from Addis Ababa to Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar began on June 16, 2024, along with additional midday flights to Kigali. Evening flights to Douala and Lubumbashi will start in July 2024.
June was a triumphant month for Ethiopian Airlines, receiving several prestigious accolades. It was named Best Airline in Africa for the seventh consecutive year at the 2024 SKYTRAX World Airlines Awards. At the APEX Passenger Choice Awards 2024, it won Best Entertainment in Africa and Best Wi-Fi in Africa, highlighting its exceptional onboard experiences.
